Portuguese delicacy

Delicious I tell you!
Although when you have foreign guests this can turn into something of a cultural clash... most people who have never had a snails snack seem to be grossed out by the idea of eating a snail.
But the choice of snacks available in most places is bountiful enough to please almost all tastes.

I like snails. Great with garlic and parsley butter. Yummy.
I once had 18 on the trot... Too many! I felt a little queasy.

i tried them when i went to paris. i have to say, trying to use the tools properly completely distracted me from any ick factor, and i really enjoyed them!

tools? i just slurp them out of their shells- yummi!! my first experience with snails was when a group of nice andalucian boys took us (american study abroad student girls) out for some tapas... ;)

cream: You mean the big ones, no? I love those too, but these ons are small. 18 wouldn't even get you started... ;)

cadiz: The French really complicate things a bit... here we usually do it just like Ale said. :)

Ale: You'd feel home around here! And I guess you wouldn't have any problem getting used to our local beer either! :D

Looks familiar, our fish monger tries to sell us half a kilo every Tueday and Friday but Mrs CR wont have it.

Plenty of Garlic and salsa...maybe one day soon!

I can swallow almost anything soaked in enough butter & garlic to plug a whale's artery.
I actually enjoy eating mollusks. That looks delicious because the shells are so beautiful.

CR - Add some oreganos to it, that's how we do it.

homo - The texture is pretty much the same of a small clam, as for the taste it depends mostly on the seasoning you add.

Bleurgh.

That said, I love clams and oysters, so obviously I'm being rather silly.

dawn: The idea can be repulsive. Some people eat insects and say they are tasty, insects put me off. Guess it is all a cultural issue.
