Book suggestion

Most people nowadays talk about global warming.
Some people follow the eco-leaders, assuming all the arguments of the environmental gurus are right.
Some others simply deny the theories of the environmental groups.
How
many people actually try and understand what is at stake? How many
people do actually know what the real issues are, what the real
knowledge about our situation is?

Well, this book can give a real down to Earth easy to understand explanation on what we know about global warming.

However you should also read this other book, although fictional it has sound
scientific basis, well documented, and points out several important
issues about activism without adequate knowledge of the issues
defended...

Hard to wrap your mind around it when even the experts are routinely surprised... and I don't mean the silliness abt. the 1% of scientists who don't believe its happening, but for instance the current surprise over the speed of the ice melting in the Antarctic.

We all need to take hold and do what we can. I learned recently that if every American ate one meal a week with all local ingredients we'd save a million barrels of oil a year.

maybe I'll post on that!

hayden: You'll probably be in for some surprises too. Sometimes environmental friendly options aren't really as good as some try to advertise them. The first book comes with a series of exercises that are really very interesting.

Ale: Netherlands heh? I've just updated my link to you. Regarding the books, they aren't two different versions of the same story, to a certain extent they are a bit like two sides of a three sided tale. The third side being the currently trendy radical environmental approach you can get from most media.

I have no idea who to believe...I wonder if it's earth going through a cycle...or if it's all the carbon trapped up *there*. Maybe it's both.

But if we can clean the air I will wave my flag to that. Being an asthmatic suffer.

Hey, I now reeeally need to update my links to you and Ale!

GG: GH makes climate models. You would probably expect us to be rather sure about this issue, no? Well, surprise surprise! We're not!
